4-player free-for-all arena painter. Real-time per-team map ownership tracking, Splatoon-style.

// what I built

  • High-resolution render target overlaid on the full map to track per-pixel paint ownership.
  • Score calculation avoids reading the entire texture every frame: sample the area around each hit point before and after painting, then take the difference. Kept the live per-team ownership bars (Splatoon-style) performant.
  • General optimization pass. Also responsible for the end-of-match score screen.
